Attracted by the world of fashion, he moved to Rome in 1962, starting to work in the atelier of Patrick de Barentzen and Giles. In 1964 he formed a partnership with Giles that would last ten years. In 1974 he opened his atelier in Rome in Piazza di Spagna and, in 1979, after the successes achieved with haute couture, he presented his first women's ready-to-wear collection. He is known for his sensual creations, and his awards include the "Silver Mask" for haute couture in 1967, the "Singer" award in New York as a young designer and the Pittsburgh award in 1973. Today, Rocco Barocco is one of the top stylists most successful Italian brands and its brand is known and exported all over the world. Every year, he presents his men's/women's ready-to-wear collections in Milan during fashion week.
